The honor of Fellow is the most prestigious recognition that members can receive from NASN (National Association of School Nurses). It is a symbol of superior achievement in school nursing and exceptional contributions to NASN. The depth and breadth of the Fellow's imprint on the field is extraordinary.

Their contributions have had a significant and enduring impact on the professional association and, more broadly, school health and student well-being.

The National Academy of School Nursing Fellows was founded in 1997 and has inducted 139 school nursing fellows.

Congratulations to Lisa Musser, RN, CSN, MPH who was honored at the CSNO 2026 Conference with the 2026 SNOCF Spark Award.

Lisa has demonstrated a profound commitment to supporting the work of school nurses through her development of the Sacramento County School Nurse Residency and Pathway Program, in alignment with the mission, vision, and focus of SNOCF.

Congratulations to SNOCF member and UCI School of Nursing faculty, Nakia Best, PhD, RN, for her induction to the American Academy of Nursing's 2025 Fellows!

The newest fellows represent 42 states, the District of Columbia, and 12 countries. Their extensive expertise will enrich the thought leadership of the over 3,200 Academy Fellows who together advance the Academy's mission of improving health and achieving health equity by impacting policy through nursing leadership, innovation, and science.

Credentialed School Nurse, Legislative Advocate, Administrator, and SNOCF Board Member, Lydia Bourne, was honored at the CSNO 2025 Conference with the 2025 SNOCF Spark Award for her contributions to the field of school nursing.

Dr. Munk was awarded the Journal of School Nursing’s (JOSN-SAGE) First Publication Award that recognizes the writing excellence of a first-time school nurse author for her co-authored publication in the Journal of School Nursing. Article linked here.
