Exciting Announcement to Share!!
The School Nurses of California Foundation, in partnership with researchers at the University of California, Irvine (UCI), recently received a grant through the "Campus-Community Research Incubator Program" at UCI. The purpose of this collaborative research project between SNOCF and UCI will be to describe the impact of COVID-19 on California school nurses and school health services.
In order to mirror the range of diversity within school nursing services in California, the project team hopes to recruit participants from all six regional sections of the California School Nurses Organization (CSNO) to reflect the variation of the role and responsibilities of school nurses, the provision of school health services, and the needs and resources of local communities.
*Stay tuned for more information about this project,
as well as participant recruitment!

As the brand new 2021 year begins, the School Nurses of California Foundation Board of Directors wishes to thank all our individual donors, corporate sponsors, and community partners for your extraordinary financial generosity and support in past years. We especially thank you for your generous response to our successful "Giving Tuesday" donation campaign last November. Your monetary gifts have enabled SNOCF to continue in its Mission of “funding programs and services to improve the well‐being of California students and school communities”.
In 2021, SNOCF’s focus will remain on helping school communities decrease chronic absenteeism during a time of remote-learning triggered by the Covid-19 virus. SNOCF remains committed to demonstrating that school nursing intervention can increase attendance, even if schools cannot conduct onsite classroom learning.
In 2020, SNOCF broadened its efforts by partnering with physicians and universities in California to seek grant opportunities to assist in the gathering of research data regarding the role of school nurses in the Covid-19 era, and we will continue this quest next year. We also plan to offer another grant opportunity sometime this year.
The School Nurses of California Foundation will continue to seek charitable donations to aid us in meeting both our Mission and focus. Please consider joining us in our on-going efforts.
SNOCF wishes everyone a very healthy 2021!
